The Youth Health and Wellbeing Program aims to promote the physical, mental, emotional, and social wellbeing of young people within the community. The program provides opportunities for youth to learn about healthy lifestyles, develop positive habits, strengthen their self-confidence, and build the skills needed to lead healthy, active, and fulfilling lives.

The program may include health education sessions, physical activities, sports, workshops, group discussions, and community engagement activities. Topics may cover physical fitness, healthy eating, mental health awareness, emotional resilience, stress management, positive relationships, personal development, and making informed decisions about health and lifestyle choices.

The program also encourages young people to develop leadership skills, build positive friendships, support one another, and participate actively in community life. By creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment, the program aims to help young people feel valued, respected, and connected to their community.

For the Karen community in Queensland, the program can also provide culturally appropriate opportunities for young people to discuss health and wellbeing while strengthening their cultural identity, sense of belonging, and connections with peers, families, elders, and community leaders.

Through this program, we aim to increase health awareness, encourage positive lifestyle choices, reduce social isolation, build resilience, and empower young people to take an active role in maintaining their own wellbeing. Ultimately, the program seeks to support a healthier, more confident, connected, and resilient younger generation that can contribute positively to the community and society as a whole.
