National committee

The national committee is the organisation's board, also known as its Central Committee. Members elect it at the National Biennial General Meeting, held every two years, and it is accountable to them.

It coordinates the work of the branches and has the final say on policy, discipline and direction. It oversees the organisation's finances and reputation, and represents the Karen community to government and partner organisations.

Each branch has its own Management Committee to run its affairs, with Youth Affairs and Women's Affairs departments, and forms sub-committees as its work requires.

The President leads the committee, the officers keep its records and accounts, and the coordinators oversee youth and women's affairs across the country.
